Talking, laughing and....

Connor loves to talk. He has gotten quite vocal actually...including laughing!!! But the biggest news is he now smiles. This video shows some of his charm and the smiles are there (look for them)...they are very few and far between and hard to get on camera!!!

It is amazing to see him discover he can do new things everyday!!!!

5 weeks and then some...

Connor's 5 week birthday was yesterday!!! Hard to believe it has been that long!

In the past week, Matt has had the opportunity to spend more time with Connor. I went to a concert with my parents for their annivesary so Matt was in charge of feeding and putting Connor down for the night. When I got home, I found both of them asleep, which I deemed to be a success!

The weather has been wonderful in the past week, so much so that we have spent a bit of time outside and walking enjoying the spring/summer-like temperatures!

We also have enjoyed dresing Connor up in some of his spring outfits as well.

We really have enjoyed seeing him grow up...he started a new thing today (more on that later!)

Next week the weather isn't supposed to be as wonderful. We are going to miss it, aren't we buddy?

One month!!!

Happy One month birthday Connor!!!! Hard to believe a month ago we met this face:

And now our little man looks like this:
Connor now weighs 8 lbs 8.5 ounces and is 22 inches long (25th and 75th percentile respectively). He is much more alert and aware of his surroundings and is starting to talk a little more and throws out a grin from time to time. No smiling yet but we have a feeling that that will be coming soon!!!!

We love you Connor!! You are a wonderful little boy and we love seeing you grow a little more every day!

March madness...

March madness has hit the Dakin household. Typically we enjoy the NCAA tournament, and we had hoped this year would not be an exception. Bucknell was playing for a chance to play in the tournament so we decked Connor out in the orange and blue to show his support:
There were some moments in their game against Lehigh where we thought Bucknell would come back to pull out the championship:
But in the end Bucknell was not victorious and thus not going to the NCAA tournament (They play Arizona in the NIT on Wednesday instead.) Sorry buddy, maybe next year:

We will however be paying attention to the NCAA Women's Frozen Four as my brother, Kevin, will be traveling with the Cornell Women's hockey team. He has become a phenomenom known as cymbal guy:

So GO BIG RED!!!! Connor is showing his support:

Visiting the Dakins...

On Sunday we went over to Gramma Dakin's house for a pizza party. Connor had a tough time that day sleeping as he was completely afraid of missing something (and was VERY hungry!!!!!)  To get him ready, we wanted to remind everyone that he truly is a:

After eating (and letting Mommy eat), he was ready for visiting. Cousin Veta didn't have a chance to hold Connor in the hospital because she wasn't feeling well so we made sure she had the opportunity to hold her cousin:

Cousin Keira also had the opportunity to hold Connor (though it looks like he was looking for an escape route):

Love the pic of all the cousins together:

A picture of the whole Dakin clan:

Thanks for the dinner Mom D.! We had a great time!

Our first video

Connor loves his bouncer with all of the animals. He oftens tries talking to them (until I get the video camera out). Well, I finally got a little cooing out of my little boy. So here is our first of what hopefully will be many videos:
