2 weeks old...

It is so hard to believe that Mr. Connor is now 2 weeks old!!!! He has started being awake and alert more, especially after his initial morning feeding. He absolutely loves his bouncer that has animals on it and will sit there and talk to them.

He also enjoys sleeping in the afternoon in his bassinet.

On average he sleeps about 6 hours at a clip at night. We go to the doctors tomorrow and will have his 2 week numbers then but we know that he loves to eat and so are pretty sure he has grown quite a bit!!!! Happy 2 weeks little man!

All by ourselves

Matt returned to work today, so Connor and I were by ourselves. We had a very successful day.

We got to play:

We went to Mommy's doctor and did a little shopping (finding an Easter outfit for him!!!). After a slight incident where we had to change his complete outfit, he donned his future alma mater on his chest. Meet a member of the Bucknell class of 2034:

Tomorrow is day 2 and they are calling for snow...we are excited for a day at home as a result!

Church...

On Sunday we went to church with Janet's parents. Connor was the hit of the congregation, even though he slept through the whole service. He didn't even realize everyone gathered around him afterwards as Grandma and Grandpa showed him off with pride. See how adorable he was in his outfit:

Coming home

After 5 nights in the hospital, we were very excited to get Connor home. So on Saturday the 18th, we dressed our little one up and got him home.

Yesterday was his one week birthday.....so hard to believe!!!

Bath time...

While at the hospital, Connor got to have 2 baths. Right after he was born, he was whisked away to the NICU and nursery where they cleaned him up.

Then on Friday (the day before we went home), we got bathing 101 from our nurse. As you can see from the pictures, this was not Connor's favorite thing in the world.

Only after he was all clean did we finally get a grin and a happy baby.

As you can, our try at home wasn't any better:

"I do not like this!!!"

Yes, I am tired but at least the baby was happy now that he was clean and warm!!!

Visitors...

We had many visitors while we were in the hospital. Connor enjoyed being passed around and spending time with each one.

Introducing....

Please allow us to introduce you to the newest member of our family:

This is Connor Alan Dakin, born Wednesday February 15th at 10:13 pm. Our bundle of joy weighed in at 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.

After being in the hospital for 51 hours and only getting to 2 cm dialated (we arrived there Monday the 13th at 7 pm in order to be induced), the decision was made that Janet would have a c-section. This ended up being the best decision in the world as Connor was actually trying to come out with the side of his head first instead of the top. 7 minutes into the procedure, the sound of baby cries filled the OR and Matt was able to announce, "It's a boy!!!!" We are so happy to have our little man in our lives. Here are a few pictures from his first couple of hours.

Past due...

Yesterday was Dakin Due Date but with no baby. So off to the doctor's we went. There Baby Dakin was given an eviction notice:

So we were given our induction notice. While we still hope that Baby Dakin decides to come on its own, it is nice to know that we are very close to the end. So we might have that Valentine's Day baby after all.
